1/3/2023 0 Comments Colt ar carry handle![]() ![]() ![]() Features of the LE6920 include: a four-position collapsible stock, a 5.56mm chamber, a chrome-lined chamber and bore, a barrel with a 1-in-7-inch twist that accommodates ammunition up to 80 grains, an adjustable front sight, a removable carry handle that includes a flip-up iron sight, and an accessory rail under the handle. The Colt Model LE6920 is still one heck of a patrol or tactical rifle. The accessory rail on top of the upper receiver was designed to accommodate various red dot and magnified optics. Then someone got the bright idea to kill two birds with one stone and design M16-style rifles and M4-style carbines with a removable carry handle and an accessory rail system on top of the rifle's upper receiver. Initially, some rifle operators attached optics to various Colt M4s and other copies of this design that had a fixed carry handle. I also wonder about the trijicon mounts if they work loose on carry handle. It would be nice if I could just win the lottery and buy one of each and test them. The first giant leap into the 21st century as far as law enforcement patrol and tactical rifles occurred when high-quality optics became available for armed professionals who were assigned to tactical duties. I am just surprised that the holes in the nut are not threaded with an allen set screw to secure the mounts. Smith Enterprises makes one that looks good but ARMS 39 appears to have two points of attachment. ![]() I am wondering if any of the mounts made today actually stay put and dont loose their zero. I dont have that now as like a dumb ass I sold all my assault rifles and spare parts etc when I quit being a cop in Texas - now that I find myself back in law enforcement I have replaced them as best I could since some of the stuff cant be had now like the night firing device so I use smith vortex. The thing is I tried to scope a carry handle gun about 1977 and the mount would work its way loose after a few rounds, also had a 4x Colt scope that had a spring loaded nut which would stay in place and not work loose. I am always several scopes behind so who knows what glass. I am really happy with my TA442 but its on a M4 type gun. Yak I have two AR guns one is a match service rifle A2 set up but I have been knocking the idea around of having in hand what I would need to drop a scope on it. ![]()
